Fly in an Historic SNJ

Experience history in flight aboard the legendary SNJ—a WWII-era Navy trainer that prepared countless pilots for combat.

We’re working on the details—ride info coming soon!

The Navy’s Go-To WWII Trainer

The AT-6 Texan was the most important advanced pilot trainer of World War II. Renowned for its performance and reliability, it was used by multiple military branches and allied nations around the world. Our aircraft is one of the SNJ models built specifically for the U.S. Navy during WWII.

More advanced and demanding than the BT-13, the SNJ prepared pilots for the high-performance fighters and bombers they would later fly in combat.

The Minnesota Wing’s SNJ is a familiar sight at air shows and formation flights throughout the Twin Cities, often appearing over parades, memorial services, and commemorative events. When it’s not in the air, you can find it on display at the Minnesota Wing hangar museum at Fleming Field in South St. Paul, MN.

Experience History in a WWII Navy Trainer

A bright yellow vintage U.S. Navy aircraft, marked with the number 916, flies over a winding river and forested landscape during daylight. The aircraft has a red nose, a black propeller, and a visible pilot in the open cockpit. Farmland, trees, a bridge, and a small town can be seen in the background. A layer of mist hovers above the river below. A logo with wings and a vintage plane is visible in the bottom right corner of the image.
A smiling Piston & Props volunteer wearing a red shirt and sunglasses stands with arms outstretched in front of a bright yellow vintage U.S. Navy aircraft marked 916. The scene takes place on an airport tarmac with other crew members and visitors in the background.

The SNJ helped forge the heroes of WWII—and now you can fly where they trained. Your ride helps preserve this historic aircraft and keeps its story alive for future generations.
