Smoke On Airshows delivers a thrilling warbird aerobatic performance featuring pilot Jody Graffunder and the powerful Yak-52. Combining precision flying, dramatic maneuvers, and the unmistakable sound of a radial engine, the show brings the excitement of classic military aviation to life in the sky.

Based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Jody’s performances showcase the Yak-52’s strength and agility while creating an engaging experience for spectators both in the air and on the ground.

About the Pilot

Jody Graffunder is the pilot behind Smoke On Airshows and one of only a handful of airshow performers flying the Yak-52 warbird. Based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Jody brings precision flying, energy, and a deep passion for aviation to every performance.

Jody achieved his lifelong dream of becoming a pilot in 2012, earning his license in just two and a half months. After completing his training, he began studying aerobatics under the guidance of an experienced airshow pilot. Through dedication and practice, he mastered advanced maneuvers and developed the skills needed to perform safely and confidently in front of airshow crowds.

Beyond the performance itself, Jody believes the airshow experience continues on the ground. He enjoys meeting spectators, welcoming children for cockpit tours, and sharing his enthusiasm for aviation with the next generation of pilots and aviation fans.
